The AEM AD-6G-1P is a single-port, hot-swappable 6 GHz Coaxial Test Adapter. It slides directly into the modular expansion slot of the handheld AEM TestPro platform, specifically optimizing the device for modern automotive service centers and wire harness assembly lines.

Key Capabilities

High-Frequency Testing: Extends the RF testing range up to 6 GHz via a single ruggedized, 50Ω female SMA interface port.
Advanced Time-Domain Reflectometry (TDR): Pinpoints the exact structural locations of defects such as kinks, tight macrobends, bad crimps, or cracked shield lines.
Live Test Manipulation: Includes a live sweep testing mode that runs continuous, real-time measurements. This allows a technician to physically flex, bend, or squeeze a harness line and instantly view real-time changes to the reflection characteristics.
Comprehensive Frequency Analysis: Captures high-resolution Return Loss frequency plots alongside localized time-domain event tables and visual trace maps.

Target Applications

The adapter is built to support high-frequency automotive connectivity standards—such as high-bandwidth vehicle coax cables. Automotive plants can store a vehicle-specific library of custom harness profiles inside the handheld unit, enabling quick automated PASS/FAIL verification right on the assembly floor.
